Placa Evminov, pe înțelesul tuturor

The Evminov board (sometimes called a prophylactor) is a long, inclined board fixed to the wall at an adjustable angle, with a moving handle near the top. It is used for supported spinal traction and a specific set of back exercises. It is rare in the UK, and we are often asked what it actually does.

The idea behind it

Lying along the board at an incline lets gravity provide a gentle, supported lengthening through the spine. Holding the handle, you can perform small, controlled movements that combine that supported stretch with light activation of the back and core muscles.

How we use it

  • Only after an assessment, as part of a wider movement plan
  • At a gentle incline to start, progressing as appropriate
  • Always combined with strength and mobility work, never on its own

An honest note on claims

You will find dramatic claims about boards like this online. We keep it straightforward: many people find supported traction and gentle loading a comfortable, useful part of a back-care routine. We do not present it as a medical treatment or a cure for diagnosed conditions, and we assess suitability first.

If a stiff, compressed-feeling back is something you live with, the Evminov board is one of several tools we can include in a guided plan — alongside Pilates, manual therapy and, where useful, other forms of supported traction.
